I am currently sharing a house with my sister. As some of you may know I have fostered before, I am missing fostering terribly but my sister has a cat and she does not want unknown dogs coming into the house and stressing her cat out. I have a spayed whippet bitch who is 2 years old, she is good with other dogs, cats and children. I know whippets dont come into rescue that often, its usually lurchers or greyhounds but I thought I would post here just in case. I am offering a foster home for a small whippet, must be proven to be ok with cats, other dogs and children and must be housetrained. I can foster for an initial 3 weeks but if the dog settles well and we have no big problems I could extend the time period for longer. If it works out really well there MAY also be a POSSIBILITY he or she could stay permenantly. All I can promise at the moment is a foster place for three weeks. I will cover the cost of food but any medical expenses would need to be covered by the rescue. An adult under two would be best. I can offer the best of care and plenty of attention as I am home during the day. I am sorry it all sounds a bit fussy but I have to think of my sister and the other animals. If anybody knows of a dog that fits the bill and needs some time in a quiet home enviornment please pm me.

Also just to add, I can supply contact numbers of referees from previous rescues I have fostered for before and a homecheck is welcome.

Thanks

have you posted on the petsireland site and the northernirelandanimalrescue website? Also you could leave your info with nearby rescue centres as I know some of them are regularly needed fosterers (though they wouldn't regularly have whippets/small whippet-crosses)

also I saw an advert from Wales for someone who needs to have a whippet looked after for a month, but owner wants her dog back and, well, that isn't in Ireland

Hi Macha, yes I have posted this on petsireland but not the northernireland one, will do that now, thanks.
