Thank Goodness!

After today I can actually get on with the family's Christmas and stop runninga round for schools.. although now the plays will commence!! lol

More cakes than you can shake a stick at in my house and when I picked my son up from school last night, he got in teh car and said 'You smell of cake' hehe

I've just had the discussion with my sister about all of the Christmas things happening at my niece and nephew's school to which I am invited (and which I will, of course, attend for snuggles and sharing good things). I couldn't have babies, but my sister has done her very best to share her babies with me from the day they were born. This meant having them for full days and overnight from when they were 6 weeks old and spending at least one day a week with them so I have a lovely close relationship with both of them.

The one downside of this is that I spend a fair amount of my life on a motorway, since they live 50 miles away, so nipping up to collect them from school and take them for a nice tea somewhere is pretty high on the time consuming and diesel burning experience, and when I need to be there in time for assembly for either of them it takes 3 hours of travelling time for a 20 minute assembly.

It's worth it though, to share in their lives

Good on you getting through all of the Christmas Fair season though- it's amazing how much of the time the schools just assume that you will be able to donate time all over the place isn't it?
