whilst i was surfin the site i thought id ask a daffy question about pup legs. My whip pup is about 5 mths now and just in mid gangly growth spurt stage, i have noticed that she often chooses to sit with one front "knee" joint bent back into her body so her weight lies on the joint on the floor. The other leg is quite ok doing "proper dog stuff", i know my recue boy of old used to do funny wierd stuff with his legs but this seems rather odd...? Having said that she races around like a loon with the other dogs and certainly isnt lame or worried by it. Any ideas guys?

I've known quite a few whippets do this. I have a mother and daughter that both do it, on both knees - I call it their pathetic look :- " I think it kind of makes them look deformed, and it looks so uncomfortable - but they do it all the time, so it must be comfy for them :teehee:

I have to agree! we have one that does it too - we always say that he is doing it for sympathy - usually wants something at the time :huggles:

thanks guys really reassuring, was worried cos we noticed it after a day at her "auntie Zoes" , Zoe being a large energetic gsd and they ran ragged all day. We limit her exercise to allow sensible rests but wondered if we had overdone it and caused damage. Phew! Yeah come to think of it we do tend to see it when im gutting a phesant or fish or something and she is hoping for some revolting morsel of raw scram! Whips have their uses here none of my other dogs will touch this kinda stuff but whippy downs it in a crunch, yitch.
