Hi All

It amazes me what people say when they talk about dogs. Have you any funny stories about your dogs and other people’s comments?

Philippa was out exercising our three Whippets and two Bedlingtons this morning and some body stop to talk to her. The woman has a 9-year-old retired Greyhound and stopped to talk to the Whippets. She asked Philippa “how do you curl the hair of the two small whippets”?

Philippa reply "There are Bedlington Terriers" was not under stood!!

Funny things Dalmatians :clown:

A long time ago (1970s) we were racing with Stanborough at the Buntingford Carnival (Herts) we had a Dalmatian who weighed at 39lbs (and others at the time) who we used to run.

One trackside punter who was watching the racing and trials said to me “I’ve never seen a spotted Whippet”. Harry Field (who was running RCh Peanut) standing close by as quick a flash said “Yes mate, he crossed it with a box of Dominos”.

Now the odd thing was the punter left the trackside happy.

The other thing about this Dalmatian (she was called DOT – we have two small children at that time) was when we were at the Maidstone Open and a breeder of Dalmatians came up to asked about Dot. I told her she was eleven and the reply was “far to thin for a pup” – but Dot was eleven Years not months. Just goes to show what she knew about Dalmatians!!

People often ask me if my greyhound is the mother of my whippets :b
