GALWAY CHRIS
Galway Chris is a 3 year old ex-racing greyhound boy. He was brought to us from Galway to find him a home now that he is finished his racing career. Galway Chris is fairly small for a male greyhound, and is shorter than some of his companions currently in our kennels. His black tuxedo coat is in good condition and has been well looked after.
Galway Chris has a really lovely temperament and is a pleasure to be around. He walks well on the lead, loves getting fussed over, and is very easy to manage. He has only been with us for a short time so we will update with his progress again soon.
Chris has been very good with the other greyhounds in our kennels so far and is no trouble. He has not been tested yet with smaller dogs or cats, but these can be carried out prior to adoption if required. Often ex-racing greyhounds need a bit of socialisation with smaller dog breeds as they would never have seen them before, and at the start may not realise they are dogs!
Galway Chris has not yet been in a home environment, so new owners will need to be a bit understanding at the start and give him time to learn the house rules. It generally takes greyhounds 10-14 days to start to settle in a home, and really all they need is time and patience.
Like most greyhounds, Chris is a total couch potato and not need a huge amount of exercise. He will be content with two 20min walks a day and perhaps a chance to stretch his legs offlead in a safe area once or twice a week. This fine-looking boy is going to make someone a fantastic companion.
Galway Chris is currently being kennelled in Ireland, and can be transported via Kerry Greyhounds to the UK or Europe if a suitable home offer comes up. This will be organised and paid for by Kerry Greyhounds, and we ask only for a donation to help cover costs. Please note that adopters will need to travel to our nearest collection point to pick him up. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, de-flea'd and wormed and a homecheck will be required as part of the adoption procedure.
If you are interested in fostering or adopting Galway Chris, please email me on tamakin_84@yahoo.co.uk for our adoption application form and information pack. Thanks!
