I enquired about Gandalf at the rescue centre in Dunfries some time ago, but he had just found a home. Unfortunately, he's been returned as he didn't come up to the new owner's expectations.

I've found my hairy lurcher now of course; but wondered if anyone was looking for a mature lurcher. The lady at the rescue centre tells me he had occasion to snap at a young whipper-snapper spaniel in a busy training class and this is the main reason for return. She thinks that the owner has misunderstood the situation, but might suggest muzzling him in public if near other dogs for peace of mind. The centre would give more details.

See this link.

or www.caninerescue.co.uk and search for Gandalf.

Poor Gandalf :( Hopefully now he will find someone who really loves and understands him :luck:

ps Can we please have some more pics of your gorgeous hairy :- "

Happens :( , thanks for posting Lind@ (do let us know how its all going for you and Indi  and a photo...or twelve would be  ), eeh, sometimes I wonder!

At times seems people want 'designer dogs' from rescue, if anyone can honestly hold their hand up and say they have a flawless hound, one which they have had from a pup/bred themselves I commend them entirely and sincerely...but feel a lot of rescues suffer from not conforming to the new owners expectations...where in truth every dog has little peculiarities of personality (we dont like everyone/react well in new or stressful situations...but we expect our dogs to (w00t) and dogs we have a yet to build a trustful relationship with in the case of rescues).

Fair play, maybe best to hand him back in if it was getting too stressful for the new owners, good on you for highlighting him again Lind@, with patience/time and a dash of luck every faith he'll find his happy ever after :luck: :luck: :luck:

Gandalf looks lovely, I hope he soon finds his new family, perhaps one with a little more confidence with dogs. When I was with the rescue we found that a lot of prospective owners think that all lurchers are couch potatoes with absolutley no hang ups. They are a lovely dog, but they are dogs and have their own little quirks. Good luck to him and well done for bringing him to everyones attention again. :luck: :luck: :luck:

Poor Gandalf - he must be very confused being back with rescue.

What a shame family didn't have a bit more patience.

Hope he finds a wonderful forever sofa very soon - well done highlighting him again. :)
