ok we all know my Bliss dont we :D

the sweet but fawn :- " maniac , sorry puppy :D

well although ive only been showing just over 3 years now i see myself as reasonably able to do ok in a ring , plus 7 years of working with dogs has helped  i think :teehee:

the problem is ,,,, she is a crack pot in the ring (w00t)

she has been VERY well socialised and is phased with NOTHING and i mean NOTHING !!!!!!!!!!!!!

she loves everybody and everything , life is just great for her :D

she walks lovely everywhere but at ringcraft she is nuts :- "

she has been going for about 7 weeks so i would have thought by now she should be able to manage a straight ish line ????

she also bounces like a kangaroo

ive tried just walking with her , speeding up and everything in between , done lots of practice at home , and she is better at home BUT i see her moving off lead and she has a lovely gait but try and get her to do that when it matters is another thing :- "

i know she is a baby , i dont expect perfection , i like a naughty puppy :- "

but it would be nice to get her moving ok by the time of NCWC !!!!!!

i know she will improve with time and as said i dont expect her to perfect by any means but to calm down a little would be nice

ive tried the scullcap and valerian , she was still nuts at ringcraft but slept like a log on the way home :- "

so any tips ,,, please , pretty please

otherwise take your camcorder to northern counties , you may just get your £250 clip for youve been framed

Oh dear!! I like the new name!!

On the Scullcap & Valerian front - I don't know what dosing you have been giving - but sometimes some dogs need a slightly higher dose than others! So I would increase it a bit and ideally give a dose in the morning and again 2 hours before ringcraft - this should help

Stanley needs almost double compared to Archie

Best of luck!! :D

sharon have you ever thought of a tranquiliser?you know, those ones they shoot into elephants and tigers to calm them down. :- "

i had thought of going to the doctors to blag some valium , half for me and half for Bliss , that way if it didnt calm her down i wouldnt care

 Sounds Bliss is related to Stella :)

and most of my Great danes. I found that just the right amount of exercise morning of the show did wonders for settling them down. It was 8 km canter with my horse for the adults. Of-course lot less running for the pups and if you over do it, they will not move at all :( .

With Stella i will be just walking around the show until she settles and then hope she will stil be settled when we go in. :)

i do have to say that pik of stella is very very familiar (w00t)

i will just tie her to the bumper and make her walk to the show :D
