we have a whippet x greyhound bitch,2 years old 50 lb in weight ,she loves to chase and does some rabbiting on our fields. we would like to try her at racing and obviously as we are new to all this need to know how to get started and who to contact. we also would like to know where are the local racing tracks. We live near Barnard Castle in Co. Durham. We would be grateful for any help and advice

:D hi bramble welcome to k9. I dont know if i will be able to help you but I will try. Whippet racing on that side of the water : These are the places I know over there I dont know if any are near to you but here goes: Hordon, Dawdon and Newton Aycliffe. These clubs hold handicaps on Sats and Suns. For info about whippet racing you could e mail chris cornish editor of the whippet news magazine and order a copy of that . If you e mail me through k9 il give you her e mail address. We have 2 clubs over here in Wallsend (I dont know if you know wallsend) and we have a lad travels from over Durham way. If you want any info on these again just e mail me through k9. Hope Ive been of some help.
