We had a successful AGM yesterday, held at The Pheasant pub. Twenty + member met up for a constructive meeting with much to discuss. All this was done with reasoned negotiation despite strong feeling on both sides of each of the topics under discussion.

Jane Rankin was voted in as the new treasurer, following Jo's resignation. We agreed to keep racing fees the same next year, for both opens and club racing.

The format for the opens will be the same as last year as they both proved very successful. Geoff had good news that Dowtys will be providing refreshments next year and they will also allow camping for the Saturday night proir to racing, for the first time for a very long time. The camping willneed to be pre-booked and paid for but that shouldn't be a problem to arrange.

We vote strongly against affiliation to the WCRA for the coming year.

We made some minor adjustments to club rules and discussed the loaning of club equipment to other agencies.

To round off the afternoon the Velvet jackets for club awards were presented, as follows

Top Dog - Xplicit, owned by Lesley Harris

Top Bitch - Bee United, owned by Colin Bloxham

Top Consolation dog - Whiphaven Mighty Smidge } owned by

Top Veteran - Whiphaven Mighty Mouse } Steve and June Jonigk

Top Yearling - Armistice Day, owned by Vince and Julia Gajny.

All the winning owners left with a distinct glow of pride, and surprise. Many thanks to Jane for the lovely velvet jackets.

It leaves me just to wish all members a happy relaxing rest at the end of a difficult season. I look forward to seeing you all in the new year. All existing memebers will be sent a schedule for 2010. Any others interested should pm me with their address if they would like a copy.

Thanks for that Lesley - we were indeed surprised! We didn't think Sweep would feature in any of the leagues, as he didn't race at Gloucester after he tore his gracilis in the open just before the 1st Nationals. Of course he did come back to race successfully, but not earning points at Gloucester club racing. So it was a lovely surprise! :D Dear little Smidge getting a velvet jacket was brilliant too, he was consistant (in the cons!!).

I'll send the report in to Whippet News - could you possibly send me a pic of Axl in his jacket? Also if anyone else has a picture of their dog in their coat, please send me a pic. I'm not sure if Vince and Julia are on the internet, but I think Colin is now.
