I will sight one meeting to set the 'scene' as it were. (I could have chosen any random meeting) On 28/1016 at Monmore, the Greyhound Board of Great Britain gave the following Going Allowances for the meeting beginning at about 2pm in the afternoon. -60 -90 -60 -100 -50 -70 -40 -40 -30 -70 -20 -70 -60 -20
So what does this actually mean ? Was it bad weather, then good weather, then bad weather ? All of these adjustments end up on the Racing Post Formguide where times are adjusted accordingly. The biggest was -100 and the smallest -20 a difference 0f 80 ? Why wouldn't the same meeting have all the same Going Allowances for each race ? Why such drastic variations ? (This is a legitimate, serious question)
