I have just got back from Joyce Hutchings funeral. The sun shone as we made our way into the Tiverton church. St Peters is a wonderful church with all ornate carvings inside and out, well worth a visit in its own right. Many whippetracers were there from the Devon club and many ex racers as well. A big attendance in fact, it seems Joyce and Vern were and are well respected in their own community as well as ours. Nice to see some old racers there Den, Brian seedhouse, Lorraine who informed me that "call me hoppy" is still as fit as a fiddle at eleven years old.

Funerals aint nice but it is in a way the only way we can say goodbye to a lovely lady and a friend. My thoughts are with Vern.

I agree with u john, the sun shone through, its was a lovely service, and vern was very pleased to see us, Joyce was a lovely lady and Devon wont be the same without her, she worked extremely hard along with Lesley and Mick to make devon what it is, Vern spoke alot about his pup afterwards and i hope this can help him through this sad and very hard time suexx
