Once again many thanks to chris cornish, paul jennings, linda broome, anth and kenny and his familey for the help and phone nos ect over last weekend. what a 36 hours of pain and stress. the pups were born by c section at 5.00pm and home by 6.00pm.pops did not recognise them as her own pups, she would let them near her but had no milk and did not try to clean or mother them.
i stayed up all night and fed the pups every 2 hours hopeing poppy would come round, but no luck and no interest in them she ran away from them twice.
so at 9.00am I began to ring people for advice, by lunch time panicking and very sleepy we finally got in touch with kenny and sorted things out.the pups were fed but hungery and i feared the worst. we got to kens at between6/7.00 pm and within 5 mins abbey the wonder whippet had taken on another 5 hungery pups after 4 weeks with her own litter and was cleaning them and being the great mother she so obviously is.
kenny sends me a text every morning with snippits of news, the only bit of bad news being that we lost the little black dog early monday morning he was very small and it was expected, but it is still a shock after he put on a brave and strong fight, natalie was gutted when she got the news.
all the pups are doing fine now and putting weight on,kenny is doing a fine job and we are very lucky to have a sucessful end to a very traumatic weekend. i would also like to thank ray for comeing down to do the dew claws and everyone for their good wishes and messages of support.
have a sunny and warm weekend enjoy the champs, good luck to all
