Big thank yous again to everyone who gave me advice and moral support before Grace's operation on Monday. Thought you might like to know that she is doing really well . For the first 48 hrs she was carried up and down stairs and up and down the steps into the garden when necessary. She didn't mind a bit! Now she is coping with all that quite happily on her own and is having short sedate walks on a lead.
I can tell by the twinkle in her eye that very soon now she will be harassing the cats again, so there are 'gates' at the top and bottom of the stairs so she can't whizz up or down after a cat . Her appetite returned the very next morning and apart from being obviously uncomfortable the day of the operation she has coped very well. I'm an exhausted heap with backache and a migraine, but she is fine!
It's a huge relief to have it behind us and once the stitches are out life will be back to normal with any luck. I'm not sure how soon she is allowed to run properly again, does anyone know?
