hi, can anyone help, i have a greyhoundxbull, who constantly grazes her pads when out for walks. Does anyone have any tips for what might toughen them up. Thanks

the only way to toughen up her pads really is lots of road walking thats all...i think

i would also say road walking is probabley the best option making sure you keep your dog on the lead,or take them to the beach as the soft sand helps prevent them tearing there pads and the bonus of the salt water kind of dries there pads out aswell as cleaning any cuts,if the beach is to far maybe bathing its feet in a bucket of salt water.we will be starting our fitness training for our lurcher on the beach which is 80miles away to get her ready for the coming season.

good hunting

Once the pads have healed, dab some surgical spirits on them  this will harden them.

Thanks for the tips. Do any of you race your lurchers?

If you cant get any surgical spirit's then ordinary Metholated spirit's will do the same job,and is used very widely in the Greyhound world.
