OH, Ben, myself, William, Owen and Micheal are at the moment on holiday at Totty Towers in Great Yarmouth with Posh Pikey .
Tanya rang me to say not to take any food for my dogs as I could get it from the greyhound track. So on Saturday night Tanya and I went to fetch a bag of food. As I have never seen greyhound racing before Tanya suggested a night out at the track. Last night we went and we had a great night .
The dogs were well looked after going in kennels inside a building that looked new and clean . All the dogs looked in fantastic condition and all around there was signs advertising retired racers as pets .There was also about 4 retired dogs there and a stall selling things and a tombola raising money to care for these dogs.
We had a good night betting £1 place bets on the dogs mostly going for ones with names that we would connect to my dogs (had part of my dogs name in their name) I think we had 5 winners and 5 ,2nd places so didn't do to bad.
On Saturday when we went to pick up some food we had to go to the greyhound entrance and saw some dogs coming out of the kennels they were bouncing about and playing with their handlers. Then we went back to Tanya's and William fast asleep snoring his head off and looking nothing like the elegant and fast dogs we had just seen
Anyone who is against greyhound racing should go to front of house and see these dogs race and then go and see the kennels at the back I know not all tracks are like Great Yarmouth but I would definitely say at this track they are doing everything they can to make life better for these dogs. We even spoke to a trainer and he said he had one dog that the only thing it could catch would be a cold when he moved from the front of the fire but he wouldnot get rid of him and he has over 60 dogs in his kennels .People like him are a credit to the do racing fraternity and I wish all trainers were like him
