Hi Dougie,

It is mostly straight racing in Scotland but the Gripper Bend Open has been run for quite a few years now and hopefully quite a few more. The racers in Scotland who bend race normally trial at various tracks and run at events in the north of England to get ready for the Bend Championships then switch on to the straights. You might have seen a chap with a brindle whippet at Armadale his name is Bill and a real gent I used to trial with him with a fawn dog but I don't do the bends anymore. I hope that you enjoy Crufts.

I am about 40 miles away from Thornton and the weather here is cold but dry and according to the BBC web site the weather forecast (for Kirkcaldy about two miles away from Thornton) is for a sunny but cold day I hope that this helps you.
