Did anyone keep a growth chart for their pup?

Im doing one for gunner on a weekly basis

8 weeks he was 2.85 kilos

9 weeks he was 3.23 kilos and 10.5 inches tts approx

10 weeks tomorrow and I reckon he will be about 3.6k and 11.5tts

Keen to know what people have kept and what their dogs went on to make.

I will be interested to see the replies too!

I have kept one for Austin, but the figures are at home so I'll have to update them later!

I have kept charts ....but I keep them in lbs Martin ......So you may need to convert :) .....I only measure my lot at 6 months-ish ......

Right I think I've just converted them correctly ....If I am right at the moment Eric, Connie, Reggie, Supe and Vinnie were heavier by 3oz's - 14 oz's ......Tink was a lot smaller though  ......All of the mentioned above average out at 21-22lbs as adults.....Hope that helps :D

I am presently keeping a note of my puppy's weight gain. She is 14 weeks now.

At 8 weeks she was 3.2 kg

9 wks - 4.1 kg

10 wks - 4.5 kg - 12.3/4 " high

11 wks - 5 kg - 13.1/4 "

12 wks - 6.4 kg - 13.1/4 "

13 wks - 6.6 kg - 14" high

14 wks - 6.6 kg - 14"

I have no idea what she'll make in height and weight so I'll be interested in other replies, too

useful stuff peeps thanks. Will keep thread updated with his progress wonder how others from his litter are doing as he was the big lad.

Here's Austin's data!

9 weeks old - 3.7kg, 11.5 inches

10 weeks - 4.1kg, 12.5 inches

11weeks - 4.3kg, (forgot to measure  )

12 weeks - 5.1kg, 14.5inches

(who knows what happened to 13 and 14 weeks!!)

15weeks - 6.2kg, 15.75 inches

16 weeks - 7.0kg, 16.75 inches

17 weeks - 7.3kg, 17.25 inches

He is due another measurement now, but is currently sleeping!

I think this thread will be great, but it should be noted whether the puppy is show, working or racing bred .....as I'm sure this will also have a bearing on weight and height averages .....For example I think Cleo's line will keep most of the pups lighter than most would think ....Look at Eric and Vinnie (Cleos 1/2 bro) .....V is much bigger than Eir but they weigh the same

This will be a useful guide for me .. looking forward to hearing about the different types and sizes of whippets

Currently my girls' weights and heights are:

Ella - multipurpose breeding

19 weeks (dob 28/6/07)

8.3kg/18.3lbs

15.5 inches

Jinny - working lines

31 weeks (7 months, dob 6/4/07)

12.5kg/27.5lbs (w00t)

20.5 inches

will weigh the wee fellow on sunday but his growth and weight balance looks pretty even with others. About a pound a week and an inch in height.

I keep records of all my litters and also of my dogs

I was told years ago by an old experienced racing breeder to double a pup's weight at 13 weeks to estimate the finished adult weight. Don't know if this would apply to show bred dogs but would be interested to find out.

I have just done Ruby's 16 week weight and height:

She is now 17 lb and 16" tall.

She has just grown 2" in 2 weeks and now I am worried she is getting so big. Hope she slows down after that sudden growth.

Pauline

gunner at week 11 was 4.15k and 12.5 inches week 12 he is 4.61k and 13.5 inches so his growth has been pretty even. based on the weight ranges provided and the doubling it looks as if he will make about 22lbs but might be quite leggy.
