i need to rehome my lurcher , ive struggled with him for years now. i made the decision he would be better off elsewhere ages ago but its been a struggle to let him go but the problems just keep on coming. i still havent found a suitable home for him as i really do want the best for him, trouble is i know im not the best for him. he needs company human and people , he doesnt like to be alone. he gets on better with bitches and loves to play he is obedient and only has 2 bad habits which are big for me but in a more suitable environment would probbly either go or at least not be an issue for the new owner. he isnt a working dog . he is good with cats and dogs and has grown up with young children and never had any problem with them. his favorite games are tug o war and fetch. hes a sensitive dog and does not need a heavy handed handler. he has been clicker trained. hes 4 years old now , microchipped and neutered.

the reasons i am rehoming him is this he is leash aggresive towards other dogs this has been a long running problem since he was about 8 months old he had bad hips and he started to react to dogs at that point. he plays off lead with them fine . away from my town he is fine and shows no sign of leash aggresion. I can only take him in the car at most twice a week and that is not enough excersise for him. walking him puts him under a lot of stress and is dangerous because he can pull me over. the stress makes his hips hurt and then he is noisy and grumpy and fights with my greyhound. he doesnt like going in the car and barks for most of the journey i think the reason is because he had a fight with my greyhound in the boot of the car a few months ago . my partner is now unwilling to drive with him in the car as he finds it too distracting and this dog needs much more excersise than he can get in the garden.

He really needs somone with a very large garden or open space near to the house which he can be taken to with out needing a long drive or a walk down pavements where he has to see other dogs.

I am praying that his saviour can be found as he really is a beautifull dog and will be no problem at all for the right person.

if anyone thinks they could provide the ideal environment for him please say so as its killing me to see him this wound up and stressed.

here is a picture to prove that he has had some training :)
