I used this forum about 4 years ago to find a mate for my French pedigree whippet, Rubis. I was initially disappointed by negative comments about breeding from a dog who couldn't be registered in this country, but I was contacted by a lady who had a lovely whippet bitch who was the answer to our prayers.
We ended up with the most beautiful, blue bitch, who has just made her first trip to her father's home town near Bordeaux. Both dogs were perfectly behaved and received so much attention that we were swollen with pride.
We would now like to breed from our bitch (Echo - the year she was born, French vets were registering puppies with the letter E) and thought that we would visit this site again in the hope that someone would like to help us in our quest to continue the French bloodline of our wonderful Rubis. He is now 11 and has given us pleasure beyond measure, and his daughter is just as wonderful as he is.
I know there are plenty of whippets needing homes - my son rescued a whippet a couple of months ago and I support many charities. However, those of you who have bred whippets will know the amazing and unique feeling when your beloved pet trusts you with their little ones.
I am prepared for the hostile comments I may receive, in the hope that someone reading this can help with our search for a mate for our lovely Echo.
