Just had a message from Zara Boyle that Harry had a heart attack on Friday.

Many of you won't know/remember Harry Boyle except as an 'allrounder' judge but he did show whippets in the 80's and made Mispickle Mazurka of Zarcrest up.

He spoke to Zara yesterday and apologised for not writing a full critique but did ask Zara to send photos of his winners and put his notes into English for the SYWC Results book.

I am sure we all wish that Harry gets well soon and is back showing and judging. He did say when I spoke with him at MCCA that Zara wanted him to retire soon and that his appointment for whippet at Manchester in 2008 would be the last appearance in the whippet ring.

Get well soon. :luck:

Harry Boyle was the very first judge I ever went under at my very first dog show - Bath Ch Show in 2001 with a little tiny Savannah and a VERY nervous me handling.

My memory (aside from the 'lie down protest had by all the minor puppies) of his judging is that he was very good, very patient (esp with the likes of me) and certainly didn't put me off showing (which probably is a good thing ROFL)

Hope he gets well soon.

Just read this , Fingers and toes crossd Harry makes a full recovery :luck:

I was looking forward to his critique as Libbee won Post Grad :(

I'm wondering if this is the same Harry Boyle who used to take our ringcraft class at Nelson in Lancashire? It would be about 14 years ago. If so, please send him our best wishes for a speedy recovery. He spent ages with our wayward whippets trying to get them to stand still on the table. Even Harry couldn't sort them out - which is why we gave up showing and turned to racing - they did that willingly!
