My name's John Ravenscroft.

I own Kate, a 13yr old lurcher - or rather she owns me.

She's been drinking more than usual, so I searched for advice and found this forum. Looks like you have a useful community here, and I'm pleased to join it.

It would be a good idea to measure how many mls of water a day she is drinking then when you take her to a vet, if she keeps drinking a lot, at least you have some figures to take with you, might also be an idea to take a sample of her wee with you, save time really as that’s what they will ask you to go away and come back with one. Hope she’s ok and it’s just a bit of a fluke that she’s drinking more xxx

Yes, we took her to the vet and she's had a urine test. Slightly elevated protein, apparently - but I think we can deal with it through a diet change.
