Hello everybody, I am starting a dog walking, pet care service in Northampton. Has anybody got any tips on advertising to get myself noticed?

I have joined local Facebook groups. One for all dog owners in my area and then one for just the dog walkers in my area. I introduced myself and said what I am offering. The dog walkers group is really good because people support each other and if they are fully booked they can recommend you.

Thanks, I'll try that, I'm joining as many things as I see but hadn't thought of the Facebook groups, I have started a group but at the moment there are only 4 members!! Lol!

Well you never know things could come from those 4 people! Is there not a 'Northampton Dog group' ..... I am part of Clevedon dogs, Bristol dog community and the Weston Barkside and they all have thousands of members (I always ask permission before I post though)

I am a dog walker, I started off just printing leaflets for the local community and close friends then when I'm out walking I hand out business cards if the owners would like. I then have set up a website and I'm now starting up social media. I think Facebook is a great suggestion @Josie as when you join a group they will be more than happy to help you with starting out. I always find that if you ask neighbours and friends that have dogs then you could ask them if you can walk their dogs and then build it up from there. I'm always happy to help
