Hi does anyone know where we could get some sort of leg protectors or supports for our whippet from, or have made??

Thanks..

Do you mean the self sticking webbing we use when racing? That cmes from the vet or someone at the opens will sell you some.

On Friday this happened, ive pasted this from other section, i should have explained it all in the first place, sorry about that, we've all been a bit hectic since the accident, trying to source help for our Tegan.

She is now to be xrayed early this week so we should i hope know more, and hope that something can now be done, but she may still need supports and any info would be greatly appreciated, becasue if she does we'd like to be able to get things sorted out ready for her.

Hi,

My Whippet yesterday had an accident and has snapped the ligaments between her bones on her wrist, we've been told the bones are not attached to each other anymore and she has no tension on her foot so it just flops from side to side, its very swollen at the moment, and we are waiting to have her xrayed and a cast put on once the swelling is down. Its doubtful it can be repaired, apparently this injury doesnt usually get any better, and cant be repaired. We could have it plated, but she would then have no mobility at all, her leg would be like a prop. If it does heal ok, she may need some support on that area, to stop her foot from going sideways. We've been told she'll permenantly be lame.

We are hoping to know more next week, but have discussed possibilities of supporting the joint with our vet and if there was something we could get or do, it could really make a difference to her been able to lead a more normal life.

any help appreciated.

Rachel
