HENRY

Henry is a 3 year old greyhound lad. He is a big black boy who could do with some good food to gain some condition and get some shine back into his coat. He has the potential to be a really gorgeous black beauty.

Henry is a friendly, quirky fella who has the habit of giving a big toothy smile every time he sees you. Don’t be fooled by the show of teeth, however, as it is just his way of saying 'hello!'. He is an affectionate dog who enjoys getting interaction from people and likes being out and about. Henry is also very well behaved with the other greyhounds in our kennels.

Lovely Henry has sadly spent all his life so far in racing kennels, so new owners will need to be a bit patient during the first couple of weeks and allow him time to get accustomed to the new home environment. He has not yet been tested with smaller dogs or cats, but these can be carried out prior to adoption if required.

**UPDATE: AUGUST 2010**

Henry is still waiting for his forever home, and is now in kennels in the UK. He has settled very well with us and is such a big love bug! He is loves being around people and giving big houndy kisses to everyone and anyone. His tail never stops wagging and he’s going to be so very happy once he gets to experience the home life.

Henry is good with other dogs, though has not yet been tested with the very small. This can be carried out prior to adoption if needed. He is well behaved on the lead and is a brilliant all-rounder dog for first time greyhound owners.

**UPDATE: SEPTEMBER 2010**

Henry has now travelled across to the UK where he is now waiting for his forever home.

**UPDATE: OCTOBER 2010**

Henry has settled brilliantly in to our UK kennels and he is now content in the routine. When came to us he was very thin and had a lot of scurf and a patchy coat. After a couple of weeks in our kennel care he is now gaining weight and has a lovely smooth coat with a healthy sheen in the sun. He is now a very striking boy.

Henry is a great big softie who has the kindest soul. He is always very happy to see you and will plaster you in kisses if given the chance.

Henry walks well on the lead although excited when he first starts out, but soon settles. He will walk by your side calmly and does not let the traffic noise upset him. Henry has had a few walks around the town and not much phases him. Henry loves to walk in the woodland and enjoys an off lead run in an enclosed area. Henry is brilliant in the car and hops straight in if he thinks he is going for a car ride.

Unfortunately right now Henry is not very sociable around small dogs, but with socialisation training he will improve. This issue is being worked on in the kennels and his new owner will need to continue our training to help Henry realise that small dogs are dogs too! Henry is not cat friendly. He is a real gentleman and would make his new owner really proud of him.

**UPDATE: NOVEMBER 2010**

Dear Henry recently took a little break from kennels in a short-term foster home, and he really loved all the home comforts.

He behaved fantastically in the house and was just about housetrained from the get-go, despite never having been in a home before. All he wanted to do was curl up on the nice warm sofa and sleep the days away.

Henry is going to make a fantastic family pet, and we really hope to get him permanently out of kennels before the winter sets in.

**UPDATE: DECEMBER 2010**

The lovely Henry is still available for adoption, but has now moved in to a full time foster home as he was getting increasingly miserable in the kennels. He can now start to unwind from the kennel stresses and hopefully enjoy life more with all the home comforts during this cold winter.

Henry is a truly lovely boy, a big soft lump, and needs only a small bit of refining regarding meeting other breeds of dog to make him that absolute perfect hound. Whomever decides to adopt this boy will get a lifelong snuggler and friend.

Henry is now in foster care in Norfolk, UK. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, de-flea'd and wormed and a homecheck will be required as part of the adoption procedure.

If you are interested in adopting this gorgeous boy, please email me on tamakin_84@yahoo.co.uk for our adoption application form and information pack. Thanks!
