Recently signed up but have been lurking for a while! I live in Lincolnshire in a small cottage on the coast which I share with 7 rescue dogs, 7 cats, an aviary of cockatiels and parakeet, and a pond of koi carp and goldfish so I guess that actually makes me an animal lover or a bit strange - depending on your point of view.
I have taken in rescue dogs for the past 40 years and although I would love a puppy there are far too many deserving pooches languishing in rescue centres. I love all dogs but am a german shepherd and sight hound fanatic.
I recently lost my "once in a lifetime dog" (a very large german shepherd) who had fought cancer for over a year and had beaten it BUT the chemo weakened his heart and so I had to let him go. Still miss him and get very tearful but also remember the 13 amazing years we had together and am grateful for that.
Will try and post some pics - just tried and failed so back to the drawing board.
