hi a lady on my local site took in an elderley cairn terrier last year cos he was a stray and he looked like he wasnt going to last long, and noone wanted him :( .anyway shes got problems and is looking to rehome him if possible as she cant cope any more.hes old, smelly and a bit aggressive but doesnt bite or anything i think its just hes possessive over his food with her other 2 dogs.hes a bit incontinent and needs to go out every few hours.i suggested cairn rescue but when she rang the number she was given the lady said she didnt do it any more.wondeed about the oldies cub or if anyone here could offer any help or advice. :))

aww bless , its so hard when they are older :(

i will keep my ears open and let you know if i hear of anything , best of luck :luck:

cheers hun,i was just chatting to her,he is bad on his legs and can only totter round the garden, shes willing to carry on for another few months but i feel it would be better if someone could give her some advice as cos shes not really used to dogs(more cats really)and so shes not to sure about his quality of life.when shes had him to the vets cos hes a bit aggressive they dont touch him much just check his bloods and send her home with him. :( i think what she really needs t know is if he would be better off being put to sleep or being rehomed.i dont know anyone in cairns as the guy i used to know in them who had some of my dogs as well as his cairns was on the committee of manchester champ show but he died a few years ago.he and his dad had been in cairns for years and if he was still alive id ask him. :(

feel sorry for the pair of them , a very hard and stark choice to make, i will ask around for you
