Yesreday, my Lurcher came back to me with cuts on the inside of both ears! What could he have done to cut both lobes on the inside? Has anyone had this happen to them?I had read on the forum how cuts to the ear lobes bleed. They were right. Back at the van I folded the ears back onto his head smothered them in Savlon and clean tissues, bandaged them there, as tightly as I could, with a crape bandage. It was 5 hours before the bleeding finally stopped. He is fine today.

maybe he was running throught dense cover like brambles and thorns and theyve cut the inside of the ears as hes struggled to get through them?

Great minds think alike Kris, I was going to suggest the same thing. Sometimes the lurchery ears get folded back when running so that makes sense that the insides would be scratched.

I hope he is o.k.now

Yes, I thought the same. My Aimee seems to be the one who comes out of the brambles with cuts on the inside of her ears and they seem to bruise easily as well. Her mother, Angel is more inclined to rip the pointy tip of her ear!

Yes thanks. That's it. He just doesn't seam to feel things when he is running and he would just plough through. The ear tips just came open a little today but nothing like yesterday and it's not slowed him down. He does enjoy life. It's me that does the worrying :sweating:

Maisie's ear was bleeding ++, stopped and then she gave a big shake in the morning and the bedroom resembled a slaughter house. It's amazing how you can find dried drops of blood on walls, mirrors etc for months afterwards!
