How Do You Register Your Dog With Bwra?

As far as i know you need to become a member of a club which is affiliated to the Bwra to register your dog with the Bwra but don't quote me on that one.

Do the same rules apply if you wish to register a dog with the Nwrf?

I havent a clue about the whole registration thing, infact i didnt even know that non ped whippet racing excisted i used to think there was just lurcher racing & i used to think that chatsworth was the biggest thing you could win, but when i got Torri i did a bit more research on the net using google about whippet/greyhounds & thats when i found this site. :)

Miss Madam those in Northern Ireland who race their lurchers gave me the impression also that Chatsworth was holy grail of lurcher racing but having been over to it i can't figure out what all the fuss was about. The race ground the dogs are run over is the worst ground i have ever raced a dog over. The distance must be not much more than 120 yds, however the event is very well run. The main difference with lurcher racing is that you will find that only a small number of the dogs are really bred to race and if you were take a look at all of the top racing lurchers in the UK you will find that their pedigrees are laced with non ped whippets for example one of the fastest lurchers currently in England also happens to be one of the top no limit dogs in the country ie Come on Sue. The year i went to Chatsworth i thought the standard racing was very poor, in fact if any of the top three racing lurchers from Northern Ireland at that time had have been present i think any one of them could have won. Non ped racing is much different, as i was saying before all of the dogs are bred to race and those who race take their sport much more serious with regards to training etc.....all though some just go racing for the fun of it  had to put that in just in case some people were offended  :D .

Why do you not race for the fun of it?lol, (only jokin)

Does the NL&RC run the racing at chatsworth? The racing & showing they do is very well run, they run the Lurcher show & racing at ballywalter last summer & it was very good, it was a really wet day but it was a good show they had good prizes and all. is Maddy an over 23" dog or an under 23" dog?

Rose. :)

TO JOIN THE BWRA YOU HAVE TO BE A MEMBER OF A CLUB THAT IS AFFILIATED THEY WILL GIVE YOU THE MEMBERSHIP AND REGISTRATION FORMS TO JOIN THE BWRA...

TO JOIN THE NWRF YOU CAN JOIN ON THE DAY APART FROM THE CHAMPIONSHIPS..

DOGS DO NEED TO BE EXPERIENCED TO RACE AT OPENS THATS ONE OF THE BENEFITS OF BELONGING TO A CLUB. IF YOU LET US KNOW WHAT PART OF IRELAND YOU ARE IN OR WHERE THE FERRY WOULD COME IN I,LL LET YOU KNOW WHERE YOUR NEAREST CLUB WILL BE.

East Ayrshire are still open and hold some great opens there but I am not sure when a normal club day is. A couple of their members use this site and I am sure if they look in they will be able to help you out with dates and times.
