:D My nabour caled this morning hes clearing his garage as hes doning a one bedroomed appartment on top of it for his dauter. well he saked is Icould use his MIL old electice wheel chair. To say I nearly snached his hands off was an understamnet. its not a fancy modern scooter and its not the most modern chair in the world but it means I can go to the shops and even take the dogs out again. its quiet bulky but with having the van thats no problem for us and it will actuly fold down it take a couple of minets to do so can go on days out with it to blackpol again with the dogs :D :D :D :D .

He said his MIl used it a couple of times and the last time it stoped when she was out with his dauter I do rember Tony going to collect them as the chair wouldnt move last years and his dauter didnt know you can losen the wheels and push it. all that was wrong was the plug to the contoes had come out. its been serviecd and maintined well and if we didnt want it he was going to trow it away (w00t) . i would have cryed if he had done that.

I ahve had a little practice today just round the garden and al the dogsb chased me  so there not scared of it. and if its on full they have to run to keep up with it so might even be good for traning the racers :D . well others used a push bike. the one brill thing is it only takes one hand to stear unlike a scooter so i can hold a lead in the other hand. I havent thought of a name for her yet and she needs a comffy cusion and bag but thats no problem. I am so happy its like xmas day here

Oh thats great news, im really chuffed for you :huggles:

I'd have liked to seen them all chasing you round the garden

Im pleased you now have a bit of freedom again, it must be awful

not to be able to come and go as you please :(

Well if it's like christmas what else can you call her apart from.....

MARY

That is so brilliant for you. I looked at her and she looks like a Rosemary to me, don't ask me why. My sewing machine is called Myrtle, no idea why that came to me either. Just need some nice weather for you now.

Edited to say, I was posting at same time. That must be her name then

Mary the Chairy

Like it

That's brilliant, Wendy! How lucky your neighbour didn't throw her out before asking you :D

Oh that`s great !! Really pleased for you !! (w00t)

Nice one - thank goodness you can put it to good use as they're so expensive that it would have been criminal to just throw it away! My mum had one very similar with the one hand control and you're right - much more manoeuvrable than the bike style ones. Wishing you many happy outings with Mary and the dogs :D

just remember..........no drinking and driving :(

Really pleased for you Wendy, its time you had some good luck. May you and Mary have many happy trips together :D

Tonys spent the afternoon cleaning and polishing Mary and I am going to sew up a couple of bags one for the back and to hold my walking stick and another to go at the side to pop my phone glasses and stuff i need to get hold of easly in including poo bags when I take the dogs out (w00t)

I carnt decied on the fabric i have non in i like so i might weave some so it will be a stronh heavy fabric like frnishing fabric but i recon its going to eather be animal print or bright pink or both  I have found a fab web site with stickers for wheel chair my fave says (cobbles make me smile (w00t) ) but my son says He wont be seen out with me if I have that on. so I might have to settle for B**** on board or somthing like that.

Thats brilliant!

I can just see you going flat out in it to train the dogs (w00t)

I have taken the greyhounds out today ad it was brill they even had to trot to keep up with me thast a first

I wonder what the law is though if someone parks on the foot path with there car and I accidently of coures scratch it with my chair as i am trying to get past :- " I have to go most places round here on the road as the cars are all on the foot paths but it still brill I just enjoyed being out on my own with the dogs without worrying if i can get back home or relying on someone else to push me
