I thought it was because I had less than 10 posts but have reached that now but still unable to get it to work. Firstly it said my image was too big so I reduced it, now it just keeps saying we ran into some problems please try later. I tried yesterday and today.

There's an issue with one of the ways the forum suggests you do it, which we're hoping gets foxed soon. In the meantime, try this:

Click on the default avatar at the very top left-hand side of the forum (in the photo below, just above the balloons). When I do that, I get the pop-up in the photo below (click on link). Hopefully, following the instructions there should work - let me know if not!

Ah, that's a shame. Are you on PC or phone?

A Chromebook, this is what I get

@Kaily, your email address is shown on that picture, you might want to edit that out.

Sorry, I'm afraid i don't know the answer to the problem though.

What size is the photo now?

If it's not a size issue, I would try logging off and deleting cookies for this forum, restarting your Chromebook, logging back in, and trying again. If that doesn't work, you can send me the photo (I can let you have my email address) and I can see if it's a problem with the photo. Unfortunately I'm not able to add the avatar for you, but we will get it sorted!

Success, thank you!

Oh excellent! So many IT problems that can be fixed by 'turning it off and on again' 🤣
