because i have a dvd recorder and had crufts on my sky plus i offered to put the episodes onto a disc and send them to him.

i didnt realise he wanted them shipping to germany until after i had done them.

it took me a long time to record them all..title them and split them.

i had to but more discs than i had so i ordered a pack of 5 rams which are really expensive because he didnt want them on a dvd-r...

anyway i got his address and posted them and sent him a paypal money slip to him just to cover my expenses...i told him exactly how much my costs were every step of the way and he had no problem with it ...my time and effort would be rewarded because i thought someone would appreciate it..

sadly being the trusting person i am i sent them and presumed he would pay...but he hasnt

he does not respond to my emails and has not been on k9 since and i dont expect i will hear from him again

in hindsight it was own fault i suppose but i was taken in by the "safety" of the k9 community

anyway ..just to warn others to a bit more careul when anyone asks for help :(

Thats terrible what a waste of your kindness, :rant: don't let him make you think less of the community Kaz he is a one off, I have dealt with quite few people on K9 in this way to buy racing jackets ect and send things and they have been 100% trustworthy :D

He is the minority thank goodness :sweating:

Sorry to hear you've been taken for a ride, i do remember the thread when he was asking for help. I thought he sounded genuine too.

He is of the minority tho' remember that, you sound like me and sometimes we can be too trusting.

I have ordered stuff for folk on k9 and I sometimes get it the day I send the money away :eek: :D . I even got a dvd from someone for Robbie (firework cd) and I can't even remember who :oops: .

There are the few who take the **** but I think most are good people :thumbsup: ,,it's just who can you trust :unsure: ,,,

I'm sorry to about this person taking advantage of you...he's real :rant: for doing that to you.

Please don't think everyone is like that...its just the odd few that take advantage of others.

Your a kind hearted person and that a really good thing, please don't let this moron upset you.
 
theres a program on the tv now called the real hustle.watch it!and learn! :thumbsup: ive seen conmen galore in my job.ive yet to fall for a scam yet.im very suspicious of anything and everyone until i know them.ive seen too many money making scams and read books about people who make a very good living doing it.i wouldnt have dreamed of doing this for someone without getting the money first.there again im an old cynic.............. :- "
 
what a git I think we jhave to be warry of new peoepl it sounds horred but its the way of things now and wgat struck me about his first post is it said tell me about the cost it didnt say he would pay it craffy git I recon we should all bombard hes email addy telling him what agit he is

thanks for the replies everyone...i suppose being an honest person i just cant believe people do dishonest things...i know they do... and do much worse....but i always find it so hard to believe :b yes i have been called naive several times in my life but there are worse things i could be i suppose!.....anyway i do believe....like everyone said that the majority of k9ers are honest kind people :thumbsup:
 
they are hun,but unfortunately theres always someone out there who wants to make a buck off someone elses back. :angry: as you get older and see more things like this happen you tend to get more mistrustful of your fellow human beings.we were taken recently for a dud cheque .the guy had a cheque guarantee card etc everything checked out.but the bank refused to pay.(we always thought if there was a guarantee card then they HAD to pay,they dont!) :angry: they took us and a lot of other local traders for over 6,000.it WAS a scam but not one that anyone could know about.it involves complicity with the bank.weve rang trading standards,police,consumer advice etc etc etc.all to no avail.it was quite clever how they did it too.we have got the persons address who did it though and weve put it in the hands of some friends who are debt collectors and im fairly confident of getting our money back! o:) i could tell you tales of folk in shops near us who have been taken in with various scams but id better not put them on a public forum in case anyone else uses them,suffice it to say when we were approached we soon got rid of them,but a lot of folk i know gave them money,and on more than one occasion. (w00t) i recently read the autobiography of the guy who they made a film of with leonardo di caprio in the lead called 'catch me if you can'.now he WAS a con man!

That is very sad that people would do that. I just hope ther is some explanation. Maybe this person has gone away, or does not know what to do with the Pay Pal slip. Lets hope that it is a missunderstanding.

My hubby is always saying im way to trusting, he can work someone out in seconds, but i always like to think that everyone is trusting.. what a fool!!

I get shat on from high all the time, but i still do things for people time and time again, when will i learn eh!!
 
Really sorry to hear this Kaz but it does stop you trusting people, lets hope hes just a one off, or if he reads this it might shame him in to paying up, might sound money grabbing but get some money up front next time then you wont be all out of pocket.
