Well this morning there was a nip in the air and a fog, so I decided to put Willows Blizzard coat on her for the morning walk.

Grand.

Up at the field she and Archie did their usual racing around, disappearing into the fog for a while and returning every now and again. I met up with another walker and we chatted as we went, dogs all enjoying a good romp.

So time to head home. Leads back on and I'm almost half way home.... Hmmm, somethings different, not quite right......

Willow was minus her coat. Bearing in mind that the blizzard coats are stitched up at the front I have no idea how or were round the field she lost it.....

That will teach me to not pay attention to the dogs. :b

But good excuse to go shopping for a new coat.

Did you not go back and look for it?? She must have got caught up on something and backed out of it,it is only velcro around the strap is'nt it?

Mind you as you say,it is a great reason go whippet coat shopping!!

On a slightly different note...we have a Mare whose party trick is removing her rug leaving all buckles and straps intact...I still have absoloutley no idea how she does it but it is never ripped nor inside out

Been there done that :clown: Leah lost her lovely £30 new venture coat in a similar way...... :(

I once lost one of the dogs collars and a fella came to the door months later with the collar asking for the reward!

I had a mare that did the same thing .One year the people who owned the field were she was insisted she had her new zealand put on as it was cold (she only wore it if they forecast extreme weather as she hated waering it) within a few days she ha taken it of deposited it in the bigested pile of mud she could find and then rolled on it  They never insisted she wore it again

Lol, I'll be in contact.... Does the snood come with it or is that extra?

I didn't go back to look, I was half way home when I noticed it was missing. :b :- " Been up round there this morning today again and no sign of it, she must have lost it in the trees.... Those coats are stitched at the front so goodness knows how she did it!

I've known a few horses in my time that could escape rugs leaving the straps intact. Funnily enough, all mares as well. Must be a female thing,

Silly Leah losing her lovely new coat! (w00t) At least this one of Willow's was beat out and well used when she lost it.
