My mum has just text me to say there are Iggies on BBC 2 tonight at ten 'pets are people' supposed to be about pampered pooches! Well may be Iggies or if she saw them on a clip maybe they might be Whippets or even Greyhounds  :clown: :- "

thanks, I've set the sky reminder

I'm watching this at the moment, these people have more money than sense.

It makes you wonder if these poor pampered pooches ever get to run through the mud or roll in fox poo like normal dogs do. I know they are not cruelly treated by their owners but at the end of the day dogs need to be dogs. However smelly that might be :x

Hysterical ! Not so much the Iggy, but the poor Jack Russell (w00t) Fancy having your love life monitored by the whole nation, bet he is booted out of the bed when the baby arrives, he's only a surrogate poor chap!

I was a bit worried about that beautifull iggy sat on the parcel shelf of the car .

that would be terribly dangerous if they braked suddenly.

Oh I think that both of them get to run through mud it's just that they wear wellies when they do it. :D

Nice seeing Bertie being a dog and racing around.

cute iggy

i felt embarrased though for the older couple with the visiting JRT bitch, sitting there politely through the whole rediculous going ons.

i bet she doesn't get time to put booties on the poor thing when her baby arrives

We too thought it was lovely seeing Bertie bombing around with his brother Jupiter, he was having a great time when they went away!!

I quite often follow a woman down the road who has two westies sitting on the parcel shelf, they wobble around as she goes along. One of these days when I get the chance I'm going to pull up in front of her & tell her how dangerous this is. If she was carrying a box of china she would have it strapped in safely, so why not her dogs???

(w00t) What a hilarious programme i laughed my socks off, i know they were spoilt rotten but i'd rather that than the other extreme... I can't complain i'm not far off being that silly with Gucci as she looks at me with her new pink glitter collar on! Who knows what proper dog exercise they get normally but i think they get enough running round that huge huge posh house  !! I LOVED Jupiter, he was gorgeous and looked really big and strong (OOOh Jupiter and Gucci babies, maybe they should meet up like the 2 JR's did under the duvet and Gucci can try out his "lipstick"!!!! (w00t) ! :p )

I feel sorry for the JRT, as soon he'll look up to his favourite cupboard normally full of his outfits and instead it will be full of baby food tins, breast pumps, nappies... :clown:

Also i bet Bertie dreads the sound of his owners car coming back from holiday, he seemed to be having a whale of a time with his bro, well maybe not the humping :b

One little complaint, why did Bertie not have a lead on walking down the streets near the traffic

It looked like Bertie had a whale of a time with Jupiter - just how he should be! :) Felt sorry for the Jack Russell though, he's not going to be number 1 when that baby arrives! :(

I think they should have pointed out the training pads were for overnight accidents not that he was going to wear them - I suppose that would have detracted from the idea of pampered pooches though.

Bertie was certainly in lovely condition but yes allowing him to walk along a busy street with no lead made me cringe.

I was on the phone to a friend when this programme was on and we were in fits of laughter and both had the same thought "I wonder if he pisses up the curtains?" Then you see puppy wee pads being loaded into the suitcase and that answered that :- "

That poor Jack Russell though, I thought the same as every one else once the baby came out you go :(

I recorded this programme but started watching a bit of it ... turned it off when Bertie was trying on his pink "tracksuit" type thing. This sort of thing makes me cringe, why do people never think what they are going to end up like when the programme has been edited etc??! and why are they so desperate to appear on TV??!

Can't do with seeing dogs being walked down busy roads off lead, so arrogant of the owner - OK so nothing has made the dog dart out into traffic so far, but they've just been lucky - doesn't mean nothing will ever spook the dog. And I like my dogs safely fastened in, in cars (just like kids! :) ), it's the dog who will pay the ultimate price for the owner's careless actions.

Grrr.

Totally agree about dogs on leads - it's just such a risk otherwise, and strapping them into the car - there are loads of car harnesses on the market - why don't they spend their money on that rather than the pink tracksuit! (w00t)

i watched this last night and again tonight when daughter came round.(its on tv replay)we howled with laughter,(the dogs were so funny, berties expression when his mum was packing his suitcase was priceless!) but i thought for once this was a program about dog lovers that came across not that they were looneys or idiots, just folk who loved and adored their dogs.i thoroughly enjoyed every moment of it.it didnt seek to make fun of or judge the dogs and owners,it was just a snapshot into their lives.i thought it was one of the better dog programs ive watched and if they start a fan club for bertie or freddy then ill join it. ;) thought they were absolute stars!

I agree Kris. And the JRT's getting together in the bedroom was very well acted and just so funny.

Just hope that he can cope when the baby arrives. But then he'll have his own to look after won't he.

Only caught the end of this while channel hopping (how many times do you ever see a gorgeous Iggy while flicking through endless, boring channels (w00t) ) - Bertie was just going off in the car to meet his brother witht the 'lipstick' :b .

Sounds like the other bits of the programme might have been a bit irritating though - I did wonder at the end when the woman was talking about giving birth herself, at the same time as her JRT was due to whelp (did I get that right  I only saw the last 5 mins?)

The woman who was pregnant decided that it was only fair if her male JRT had puppies at the same time. So they took him to a point to point, as there are always a lot of JRT's at them, to find a girlfriend.

Next we see an elderlyish couple coming to the house with a 'normal' JRT ie it was a fiesty little miss called Muffin. I've missed out the bit where the JRT dog picked out a lovely jumper/sweatshirt to wear to meet his new lady love in. Later on it was decided that he was better off without his jumper as she didn't seem impressed. Jokes were made about Muffin's name and then the two excellent little doggy actors went upstairs to the bedroom and jumped onto the double bed, they were seen going under the covers. The owners meanwhile were waiting biting their nails downstairs. After a while Muffin left the bedroom and the male JRT was shown laying down - shagged out? ;) -.

However of course the bitch wasn't actually in season but because they had got on so well he was booked to meet up with her when she was.

I think that I've remembered it correctly.

I did like the idea of an Iggy wearing a bowtie welcoming party goers to the house though.

I missed the beginning, even though I set the reminder

but I loved the bits that I saw - I agree with Kris, it was just about over indulgent people who are totally bats about their dogs - lucky bloody dogs, I'd say

and yes Jan, I thought the same and had to laugh when Lewis said, hey mum, their posh dog uses the same mats that ours use!!!!! (w00t)

Phew, glad to hear they weren't planning puppies and babies all at the same time (w00t) ! The bit about windy dogs at the end though :x :x :x  (how have I been so lucky with mine? )
