Can someone advise me please.I have a beautiful shitsu Betty she is 16mths and is having her second season. It doesnt seen to be stopping she has been bleeding for 6 weeks no sign of it letting up.I thought it had 2 weeks ago them my daughter had her first period and guess what Betty's season returned. Is this normal should i do anything.she has bled all the time.

It's not normal and I would take her to the vet ,

is there any smell with the discharge. I would get her checked Asap

no smell no dishcharge or mucus just fresh red blood shes healthy and eating ok

My setter Zoe regulary has seasons longer than normal. If I remember correctly her first season was 6 weeks. I spoke to her breeder she sais it sme times happens with setters. My ex racing greyhound had a season last year she was in season for 3 weeks no swelling but blood went out of season then came back in and had a proper season.

I would pop her along to the vets just to make sure she's ok.

my norfolk terrier was in season for 5 !!!!! months her first season ,i had her checked by the vet ,no infections

As long as there is no infection and she is not loosing so much blood that it could be of concern, I would not worry; some bitches do bleed for longer then 3 weeks. Mine often bleed for several weeks after mating. :luck:
