Would you feed your dog a food made from insects? Is it more sustainable? (I'm often being told of the environmental impact of pet dogs, often by people with more children than me...) Is most dog food made from meat that would otherwise go to waste, or does this only apply to cheaper foods with their 'beaks, bums and feathers'?

It's not cheap by any means, given that it contains a pair percentage of oats and potatoes, but if it caught on presumably prices would reduce - and insects are a very dense form of nutrition so maybe this balances out the starch and grain...

 

Worms are meant to be a good sustainable food source too...

Trouble is, ignoring that I'm vegetarian (but not a very strict one - I had nut roast on Xmas day but the roasties were cooked in goose fat), my brain rejects anything it thinks of as 'icky' and I don't seem to be able to overrule it. I'd never survive a bush tucker trial! It's not even limited to meat - I spat out the almond milk I tried, but my reaction to anything new is to screw up my face like a child being approached with a spoon of medicine...
