Hello . Just wondered if its a good idea to insure my third whippet ( The other two are insured ) Or would it be a better idea to cancel all and open bank account and put money in each month just in case . What would you do ?

I have my 3 dogs insured as I do a lot with them such as agility etc so think it's wise to have them covered. I used to have the cats insured too, all 6 of them (w00t) but after trying to claim for one of them (my first ever claim in about 7yrs)and having lots of hassle getting the money out of them, I decided to cancel the policy. I was paying roughly £40 per month to insure 6 cats so started to put the same amount in a seperate bank account. Hopefully I won't need to use the money & at the end of the year the money is still mine :)

I insure all three of mine as you can never know when something may happen and it would be a long time before I had enough in the bank to pay a vet's bill these days (w00t)

The other way is to wait until you need the money and then get a loan to pay the cost of treatment - all you're then effectively doing is paying monthly in arrears rather than paying the insurance company monthly in advance  The problem there comes if something else happens and you then need another loan

............. on reflection I think it's better to insure them :D

i had a 3k claim on a 8 month pup i was paying £10 a month insurance £80 paid 3k claimed based on the theory saving money in an account you would needed to have saved £300+a month
