Any insurance company that insures on line, you state your dogs breed and no mention of anything else, why should they be reluctant?

M&S - I've never had any probs. TBH most insurance companies will expect that a greyhound will be an ex racer even if like Tiny it has never seen a track because that is the "job" of the breed and most people you see will say "oh did they race?". :)

I insured my greyhound with Sainsburys, she is showbred, but they never asked if I raced her. Most policys will not cover them for racing, it says so in the small print.

I just asked to register 'a greyhound' just don't mention the ex-racing bit!

As long as she is not racing now, it shouldn't make any difference. No one I know who has their racing whippets insured actually tells the insurance company - I know I never did when I had them insured. Any racing injury could happen when out free running, so I didn't feel the need to tell them. If you say she is a pet, you should have no problems  Good luck with her :luck:

When I phone Swiftcover they told me that greyhounds have now been added to the list of breed that insurance companies prefer not to insure....animal friends haven't even replied to me

Try NFU they have been very good with me. Tel: 0800 072 0168

Thats lucky for you that animal friends didnt reply as I'm sure we used them 1 year and had trouble when making a claim. If its the same company they are underwritten by E&L and you need to steer clear of them as they arent very good :(
