Rafferty has been prone to these & has had about 6 up to now. They have been on different feet but usually burst within a day or so & then dry up & are gone.
This one appeared last weekend, I noticed him limping slightly last Sunday & found a little lump between his middle toes on his left fore foot
By Monday it was much bigger & I reckoned by Tues it would have burst like they usually do. But no, it just got bigger & even divided into 2 seperate cysts. It looked very inflamed & even with a bit of prodding :- " it still showed no sign of popping. His foot & wrist were quite hot to the touch too.
So off to the vets on Wed, it's been cleaned up, bandaged for a couple of days to stop him licking it, & he's on a.b's & anti inflammatories for a week.
I took the dressing off after 2 days as instructed & it looked awful, black sticky pus :x has come out & it hadn't gone down at all
If it isn't any better when he's finished the course of tablets then he will have to be sedated while it's flushed out properly
It doesn't seem to hurt him & he only bothers with it if I bring his attention to it. When we've been out I bathe it in salt water & dry it well but it's not looking any better at all.
Fingers XXX he doesn't need to go back to the vets but I'm not too hopefull.
