Although we are still hopeful that Jules will come to us, someone mentioned to me that an older bitch might be less unsettling for our Sam. I hope we are going down the right road...

Sam has been the only whip since we had him at 7 months but loves other dogs especially hounds. We hoped a youngster would give him a new zing for life. Jules is whippet cross bedlington/cross and is 12 weeks.

I would appreciate any advice on adding a puppy/youngster to a home with a more mature dog. Sam attached.

Thanks!

I would find a crate an invaluable tool for providing a safe place for one or other dogs when you can't watch them unsupervised until they are settled together.

Good luck. I think a young pup would probably be less likely to have strongly formed personality traits and blend in with plenty of training?

Many thanks to all who have PM'd me and the post reply here. Just to put your minds at rest re Sam. He has lost half his natural coat due to the auto immune condition which is why he looks a bit pink/blue in this pic! He was just waiting for Dad to get his boots on for walkies which is why he probably looks a bit hot!

Many Tears haven't got back to me today despite my pleadings last night that Jules would be fine with us! :(

Best wishes
