Is there such a breed of this name. I can't find anything about one. I bumped into a lady with two big husky lookalikes and that's what she said they were. She got them from norfolk and paid £1000 for the two! They look like a husky, but are the shape and size of a german shepherd. :)

only one i know of is a northern innuet

my uncle has one

I believe there is an Inuit dog - I think inuit sled dog...?

Our next door naibour recently got a so called Northern Inuit bitch.

he's been given a 5 generation ped and some dodgy looking Registration papers from the Northern Inuit club but her breeding is Alsation x Husky.

he was told they are a true breed?

seems to me more like a con at the end of the day it's a cross bred (Mongrel)

i agree ,, you can register them with the innuit society but not kc .

Looks like a wolf. What do teepee and American Indian have to do with Inuit? (w00t)

here's a link I found that tells you all about the breed:-

The music is bit much but the info is pretty good and the pic's are great

Interesting site - here's a bit from it -

There are unscrupulous breeders selling crossbreeds and wolf-hybrids as Northern Inuit dogs. Always buy from a reputable breeder who can supply true documentation (check with the Northern Inuit Society)

:- " ;)

Hmmmmmmm.......somehow I'd imagine it would be easier to acquire Inuit dog than a wolf hybrid. At least in the UK. Or do you have wolf glut there? :)

Actually this Olakhota website has dogs looking lot more wolflike than the other one.

I always thought that malamutes and huskies were the Inuit's dogs.

our naibour got his as a rescue from a breeder on condition he signed a form that if ever he bred off her the people she came from got 2 pups from the 1st? litter.

now the sad thing is this bitch is only 3 years old he was told she's already had 3 litters and several phantams? (the phantams being the reason for them getting rid of her as she wasnt producing pups)

i'm pleased to say he's had the bitch speyed so she wont be having anymore pups.

when he got her she was manky having lived all her life in a shed, her coat was very dry/dull she was very lathargic she had no idea of how to play/chase a ball ect.

the day he got her he took her to the vets for a check up (worming/de-flea ect)

i'm pleased to say that around 4 months on she now greets you with her head held high and a very waggy tail.

as a gaurd dog shes useless as she's far to freindly but still warry of those she doesnt know, the only time she barks is at feed time but she can certainly howle when left alone?
