I know im not alone in this ...

I really hate seeing all the gorey stories on here about cruelty to dogs etc ....do we have to be subjected to it everywhere we look concerning dogs - its in dog magazines and newspapers and now here....

I prefer to celebrate the beauty and fun things about dogs and share it on here with other animal lovers not be shocked each time i log on.

There are so many awful things that happen - I cry floods of tears and it upsets me immensely :(

I have got to the point now where I would rather not open the link unless it is a situation I can personally try to do something about.

Maybe I'm burying my head in the sand a bit, but I am already painfully aware of how evil human beings (loosely termed) can be to animals

Thats exactly how i feel .....well said - you have such a way with words!

I don't really have an issue with it as I think they're easy enough to spot so it's just a matter of whether you choose to look or not.

Please don't think I'm ignorant to it, I'm not but I prefer to offer financial support rather than grieve over things as I don't think it gives me the ability to make a difference wheras supporting charities does.

I have a lot of admiration for those who devote their lives supporting animals that have had cruelty inflicted upon them, it's certainly something that I would be incapable of doing as I think I'm just not that strong or tolerant enough of the people who inflict cruelty on animals and retaliating with violence doesn't really solve the situation.

I think forums like this are a good way of highlighting animals in need of help as well as celebrating your own dogs, the lucky ones that have homes. Poppy was a cruelty case in my eyes and if it wasnt for this forum who knows where she would be now. Also Victoria the whippet in the pound. If by posting a thread here an animal can be saved then I would post every time. Its quite easy to see from the title of these threads what their content is likely to be. If you dont like them or cant offer help then of course you can turn a blind eye. The choice is yours. :)

I know what you mean............its just the scandal stories of the ones that we cant actually help that i am referring to - i help as many as i can and always have done - not just under my own roof.

thats ok - just me being in old fart mode for once!!! :D :D

aww thats kind.....

like a lot of k9ers i care so much about animals - shame we live in such a cruel world sometimes :(

I'd like to think that we all do what we can, in our own way and sadly, at the end of the day, none of us are in a position to save the world, or every cruelty case that comes to light. :( It is great that a forum such as this maximises the opportunity for some dogs, like Poppy with Nicky, and Victoria but we have to be realistic. It's a big bad world out there and we all do what we can in whatever way. :huggles:

I know it can get you down being continually faced with images of cruelty :huggles:

Although they are so sad, I try and read the ones about individual dogs, in case I can do anything to help (and indeed adopted our dear Willow from such a story), but I do not open and read the ones of wanton cruelty to dogs where there is no point, as the dog has died or it is something I know I'll only get so upset over and can't do anything about.

I know there are a lot of cruel people out there but, like animalady, I don't want to read the stories when I come onto the forum - so I don't!

Just my two pennorth!!

problem is ........it will never stop

i dont really read them anymoe, not because i dont care....but because it upsets me to much :(
