Is it advisable to give my golden lab codliver oil capsules (over the counter one a day type)

you know the kind us oldies take for our aching joints, or do dogs have to have special from the vet ones ?

dumb question probably but im just curious......... a friend suggested i did but i dont wanna do anything to jeopardise saffi`s well being

he has a good balanced diet, pedigree complete dry plus chicken occasionally and sardines occasionally also yogurt (which he insists on since giving him it when he was poorly)

i don't know about anyone else, but i give my dogs a capsule once every two days. sometimes they have sunflower oil in their food instead. I do the same with my horse. good for joints and gives them a lovely shiny coat too

As long as you can work out the correct dose according to his weight - i am assuming you are talking about capsules sold for human and therefore the dose on the bottle would be based on the avarege person size. Too much of cod liver oil can be dangerous.
