Hi, we took Gizmo for his first walk a couple of days ago and yesterday when we were out with him we noticed that his back legs and his bum sort of wobble side to side when he walks. He doesn't appear to be in any pain and apart from the wobble he walks fine. Is this normal?

Also, are there any K9ers in Yorkshire?

What is he? how old?

I guess its just puppy wobble, beans back legs seemed to run faster than her front giving her a side ways run very funny...

im sure all is ok

He is a collie x gsd and he's nearly 15 weeks old.

I feel a lot happier now it might just be puppy wobble :)

hi i live in north yorkshire how old is your pup?

Hi,

I live in west yorks. Not many whippet owners about is there. I thought every yorkshire man/woman was supposed to have a whippet :D

I shouldn't worry, it really does sound like puppy wobble!!! It is particularly noticeable in some breeds. Just make sure you don't give him too much exercise at once - treat him like an athlete, build everything up slowly!!

I'm in Lancashire, not too far from the Yorkshire border though!!

The purebred gsd pups I have seen seem wobble like no other pups I have ever known (in particular compared to whippet puppies, who seem to be a lot more coordinated at an early age than most other breeds).

My OH has a flat cap (w00t) but don't worry, he is only 29, it was his grandads and he doesn't want to part with it, and he NEVER wears it :D

hi all thanks for your replies, sorry its taken me so long to write back but had problems with net. I've got gizmo at the vets today so i'm gonna check on his wobble just to be on the safe side.

Hope everyone is ok, I am in West Yorkshire too, Wakefield

What happened was he ok??

Hi all,

took Gizmo to the vets last night and he seems to think its absolutely normal. He says it should improve in the next couple of months and if not then to take him back.

I'm so happy now I know he's ok and its not causing him pain,

Sam
