Hi I am very proud mum of two Parti poodles we always looking for fun and places to go
Currently little girl has a litter of three puppies and I am looking for some advice as this is my first litter
Always had boys before
Thanks for accepting me

I do love a parti poodle. What advice are you looking for?

Puppies are 24 days old I am worried about them as I think they have not been popping have been checked by vet twice and was told nothing seem to be wrong
Everyone tells me mum eats their poop but she does not stay with them apart from feeding them too attached to her humans so we are monitoring them 24/7
Before they have pooped when stimulating but nothing for 4 days now is it possible ?
They are putting weight on no problems
Also I was thinking to start feeding them but not sure what is the best have royal cabin baby milk was thinking mixing it with bit of puppy food and blend it
Any idea
Thanks

Hi sorry new to this how do I tag someone
Thanks

I've done it, it's when you put the @ sign before their name and they get an alert when they log in. Excuseme has experience in breeding and should be able to help you.

Meantime if you haven't read it yet, the Book of the Bitch is pretty much a breeding bible.

Hello, sorry my computer has been away up grading to windows 10.
Congratulations on your new litter, we had a litter of Cockers 2 years ago, I loved every minute of rearing them with mum.
Mum will be cleaning all of the poos and wees, you may not see any until you start feeding solids to the puppies. I think our mum was still eating the poo's until 4.5 weeks.
At 3 weeks you can start offering some solid food, there is no need for you to introduce any other milk products or anything "sloppy", as mum's milk will be sufficient, the job for you will now be to introduce some good quality solid food. The more solid food your puppies eat the less milk they will need from their mum. This is a natural process of weaning, and should be complete by the time your puppies are weaned and ready to leave at 8 weeks of age. By this age your puppies should be independent of any milk from either mum or yourself.
Water should now be available for the puppies at all times. A good quality and natural food which causes NO upset tummies, and is easy to digest is a raw diet. :)
NO sloppy meals are needed, the puppies have teeth!
I found that "Natures menu" frozen minces are quiet adequate and easy to wean onto.
I wetted the mince with a little warm water and mashed it, to make it a little more slippery for them to lick and learn about this new product. They should love this and take to it very easily.
The puppies may be very messy at eating to begin with but mum will enjoy cleaning up the mess! You may start seeing some poo's once the puppies start eating solid foods
It would be best if you offered some solid food before mum goes in to give any milk. You need to aim for 4 solid feeds a day, this should be fine and the puppies will be ready to leave for their new homes at 8 weeks of age. They should be totally independent of any milk and ready for their new growing up life in their new homes.

Worm your puppies from 2 weeks of age and every 2 weeks until 12 weeks of age. I used "Drontol puppy suspension".

A safe flea treatment for young puppies is Frontline spray or Effipro spray (the same thing)

Enjoy your puppies:rolleyes:
