Noooooooooooooo, we didn't 'smuggle' him in to the show but knowing that it was probably going to be a long day I thought I would take him along as I knew there was an unentered dogs bit and (hurrah!) it was not being manned by the RSPCA because there was no way I was going to make a donation to them.
Well, the delightful ladies from the Rottweiler Rescue looked after him superbly, I don't think they realised what had hit them when he arrived!! He strode in as confidently as usual, was a bit miffed when I settled him in his cage and beat a hasty retreat but I know he often protests for a few minutes even when I put him to bed for the night if he doesn't think he's ready, so wasn't too worried.
I got back to his bench after a couple of hours to give him his lunch and take him for a wee only to find him ...........................GONE (w00t) .
However, a quick walk round the benches revealed that the lovely ladies were so smitten by him that they had moved him right next to their table and chairs where he had entertained them for most of the morning. He had been in and out of his cage, they had rummaged in his bag and found his lunch ("He eats well, doesn't he" LOL!!), he had shared their lemon cake (don't know that they gave him tea, which he loves!) and generally had a ball! He was pleased to see us but not "Thank goodness you have come back" desperate. He then had a great game with the girls for half an hour plus a wee and a poo before I handed him back (happily on both my and his part) to Rottie Rescue and went back to show Sophie.
I have never left a dog in the 'unentereds tent' before but would not hesitate to do so again if it is the same Rescue that are manning it and, apparently, they do quite a few of the Ch shows. So, a very big Thank You to the ladies of Rottweiler Rescue and I hope you are not too worn out by having Jeremy inflicted on you for the day (he can be VERY demanding!!!)
