JIMMY
Jimmy is a 3 year old ex-racing greyhound who was no longer fast enough for the racetrack. He is a big black boy who could do with putting on some condition and losing the thick woolly kennel coat. With some good food and a soft bed, he will soon become a gorgeous black tuxedo boy with a satin soft coat.
Jimmy a real friendly boy and a joy to have around. He loves people and getting cuddles and will stand beside you for hours if you just keep scratching his chin! He walks well on the lead and is also a good traveller in the car. His lovely easy going demeanour is going to make him a fantastic addition to the family.
Jimmy has behaved very well with our other greyhounds and hasn’t caused an ounce of trouble. He has not been tested with small dogs or cats, though these can be carried out prior to adoption if requested. Often ex-racing greyhounds take a bit of socialisation work to realise smaller breeds are in fact dogs as they would never have seen them before.
Jimmy has not yet been in a home environment, so new owners will need to be a bit understanding at the start and allow him time to settle and learn the house rules. It usually takes 10-14 days for new greyhounds to start to settle down in a home, and really all they need is a bit of time and patience.
This gorgeous boy is currently being kennelled in Ireland, and can be transported via Kerry Greyhounds to the UK or Europe if a suitable home offer comes up. This will be organised and paid for by Kerry Greyhounds, and we ask only for a donation to help cover costs. He is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, de-flea'd and wormed and a homecheck will be required as part of the adoption procedure.
If you are interested in fostering or adopting Jimmy, please email me on tamakin_84@yahoo.co.uk for our adoption application and information pack. Thanks!
