Just when I thought my pup and Ria were not going to get KC they have come down with it that is 12 days since Sonny started coughing and 3 weeks since we raced at South Cotswold. Thank goodness he has vitually stopped coughing after 11 days but it has taken antibiotics and copious bottles of cough medicine. Aparently this is a very nasty strain and hangs about for quite a while coming out about 10 - 12 days aftr dogs are in contact and apparently they continue to shed the virus for 14 days after so even if you think you are in the clear and one of your dogs has not become infected beware they can be carrying it. We have had Greyhounds and Whippets for over 30 years now and this is the worse we have known I have the pup straight on to the antibiotics as it affected Sonny so bad I just hope it will not affect her as she is a super pup. It just bad luck picking it up but I know from other contacts there is quite a lot of KC about at the moment maybe due to the early Easter break and dogs going into kennel early, but just watch out it still around.

June

Could this effect Maidstone open ? or even the Northern the week after. What do you think ?

What feels funny is having no dogs to walk - can't remember when this was the case, hopefully come June we might be able to get going again the pup will only be 9 months so it won't be too bad. Trying to keep her quiet is a nightmare as she is into everything and will hurtle around the garden if you don't watch her and that brings on a coughing fit. Thy all look very dashing as they all are wearing cut off tops of Lens socks tip I learened a long time ago to keep there neck warm usually works but not so much this time but they look good can't say its going to do much for Lens feet when he finds I have cut up most of his socks.

Is there any one else's dog's that have had KC and not told ANYONE it's not fair :nuke: :nuke: :nuke:

There was a strain like this going around last year .....KC has started to mutate and in many cases the KC we all know is now changing into reoccurring bouts of illness, very high temperature's, stiff necks and joints (sounds more like a flu virus than a mere cough virus now in some cases) .....Nothing like a bit of Benylin though, wonderful stuff ....Oh and cut up socks :) ....I hope your gang feel better soon :luck:

:( Sorry to her that June you must be pulling your hair out (w00t) . Glad to see you still got your sence of humour, the thought of Len pulling on his sock on did make me chuckle :D

Try to keep your :teehee: chin up, iv everything crossed for you :- " that things will soon be back to normal JF
