now we all like our dogs and protect them with dog coats when cold but i will not ever put my dogs in hats, in the daily star today a woman form lanarkshire is making hats, dogs look stupid and silly, i bet there is a few on here that might each to there own but come on. take a look at alibar dog knits facebook page and tell me what you think.

Well, yes, they do look daft, i would not put one on my dog BUT.......they are raising charity money to help the galgos.......
 
yes - they also do coats as well I think!
 
When I lived up in Scotland Chelsea's ear tips used to get really cold and once crusted a bit, so we occasionally used a snood for her if we knew we were going to be out a long time. Otherwise hats are for 'dress-up'.

Though we've just got some awesome Santa Hats/snoods from Collars r Us that make me wish I still lived in a cold enough area to use them

Yup, I'm a saddo LOL
 
It's really hard to put a hat on a GSD because anything that folds their ears over tends to make them shake their head repeatedly and all headgear flies off (usually to land on top of something tall) :)
