Lucy is a gentle 10 year old Greyhound girl who originally came into Oldies Club care in 2008 after being found as a stray in the north east of England. Lucy quickly found a home, but her owners’ personal circumstances have changed and this sadly means that Lucy needs to find a home once again. Lucy is with her current owners in Cambridge and will be rehomed directly from there, but this isn’t a private rehoming – Lucy is being rehomed by the Oldies Club dog rescue.

Lucy has ear tattoos that indicate that she is a pedigree greyhound, born and registered in Ireland in 2001, and she has a fully documented racing history.

Excellent in the home: Lucy is quiet and well-behaved in the home. She rarely barks. She is house-trained and is fine to be left alone and is not destructive. She is so undemanding but she enjoys your company when you are around. She enjoys meeting visitors and greets them calmly.

Good with dogs and children: Lucy is very good with other dogs and would be fine to live with them. She is also excellent with children. Her current carers have had Lucy assessed as a Pets As Therapy dog and she accompanies them on visits to hospitals and residential homes. She is a very popular visitor!

Needs a cat-free home: When Lucy was in our care originally she proved to be keen when tested with cats, so she needs a home without cats or small furries.

Excellent on walks: Lucy is a perfect lady on the lead, always walking to heel without being told to and at whatever pace suits you. She is content with quite short walks. Lucy is very laid back and likes to take life easy but she can be playful with other dogs.

Good in the car: Lucy has done a lot of travelling with her current owners and she is perfectly happy in the car, even on long journeys. And if she’s taken her bed with her, she’s happy to stay away from home.

Lucy likes… Relaxing; Playing with squeaky toys; Socialising.

Lucy’s perfect home: Lucy would like a fairly quiet home where she has company for a fair portion of the day. She would be happy to live with calm dogs or children. She enjoys regular walks but doesn’t need to go far and she would like to have a nice garden to relax in.

Health notes: Lucy is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, wormed and flea-treated. She has had a recent health check and the vet reported that she is in good health and condition for her age.

Summing up Lucy: Lucy’s current carers tell us: Lucy will make a wonderful, easy companion – she just wants to fit in. We would like her to be happily settled as part of someone’s family.
