I have made available the latest guidance document from MAFF regarding what people can and cannot do in light of the Foot and Mouth disease. This is very simple document that everyone should be able to understand.

Doug says that the WCRA is taking advice from MAFF. I do not see anything in this latest advice from MAFF that supports the WCRA point of view. With attention being paid to where racing takes place it would seem to be perfectly safe to hold a meeting without risk. Please point it out to me if you can see anything contrary to this view.

Thanks Nigel.  This seems very clear, and as far as I can see there is nothing in these guidelines which supports the cancellation of whippet racing.  Is it more than we can hope that the WCRA understand it too?

I have just viewed the latest information from MAFF, and I was quite surprised to see that in the section 'what you should not do' there was no mention of pedigree whippet racing.  Perhaps somebody should contact Jim Scudamore and point this error out to him!

Anybody know how many clubs have been stopped from running by their landowners?

I know EAWRC can't use the Lampton Playing Fields due to the F&M.  Their landlord Forestheath Dist Council has stopped everybody from using the area.

It makes life difficult for the WCRA to hold a Championship if some of the affiliated clubs are not running yet.  Surely we are all in the same boat and hope F&M is soon clear.
